Principal Product Support Engineer
The Product Support Engineer (PSE) serves as a member of the team that provides engineering support to Manufacturing / Depot, Program Management, Engineering, Reliability and Quality. The PSE is the primary sustaining engineering lead for products in production and those transitioning to full production.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Electrical troubleshooting of failed circuit cards during manufacturing
Primary interface between Program Management, Engineering Program Lead, Manufacturing and Overhaul/Repair.
Primary product sustaining lead for assigned programs
Responsible for Design for Manufacturability input to new designs
First pass yield improvement
Design margin improvement
Automation/Test scripting for troubleshooting and test
Technical continuous process improvement
Failure Analysis/Investigation support for reliability and failure analysis
Product subject matter expert for test technicians
Troubleshooting capability and training for technicians
Author and maintain product troubleshooting and technical guidelines
Recommend Engineering Change Notices for product/process improvement
Support Failure Review Boards
Supports design modifications for existing products, frequently driven by component obsolescence situations. The design modification is usually of moderate complexity and may require minor card level redesign or component testing to absorb the necessary hardware changes.
Understands/utilizes internal L3Harris processes and tools for electrical design/documentation.
Responsible for performing job duties in a manner consistent with established L3Harris Ethics Standards.
Responsible for working in a manner consistent with established safety rules and regulations and the use and maintenance of required personal protective equipment (example: safety glasses).
Works under general supervision. Follows established procedures. Independently determines and develops approach to solutions. Work is reviewed upon completion for adequacy in meeting objectives. Typically, influential in setting long-term goals and objectives.
Provides technical solutions to a wide range of difficult problems. Performance has an impact on staffing, cost and schedule.
Frequent inter-organizational, outside customer and vendor contacts. Represents the organization in providing solutions to difficult technical issues associated with specific projects.
