Job Description:

  • Perform critical maintenance actions and troubleshooting of SATCOM systems including: communications, networking, antenna, power, timing, signal distribution, trucks, trailers, environmental control, and support equipment that are being used to support ongoing DoD missions
  • Provide technical assistance to daily operations, system upgrades, and preventive maintenance of SATCOM systems
  • Resolve operational and technical deficiencies with the system
  • Tests systems to ensure proper functionality
  • Install and integrate hardware on SATCOM systems
  • Update operations and maintenance material as required
  • Conduct site surveys in support of CONUS or OCONUS exercises and deployments
  • Assist in the planning, preparation, mission engineering of all SATCOM equipment prior to CONUS or OCONUS operations
  • Participate in training exercises and system deployments in CONUS or OCONUS locations
  • Implement and ensure adherence to operations, maintenance and organizational procedures and policies
  • Account for and ensure positive control of critical resources
  • Provide telephonic support as required to help isolate and resolve difficult issues
  • The work will be performed in Colorado Springs and various OCONUS locations lasting up to 6 months a year, in various locations
  • Domestic and international travel up to 50%

Basic Qualifications:

  • An active Top Secret security clearance 
  • Bachelor’s Degree and minimum of 2 years of prior related experience or equivalent

Preferred Additional Skills:

  • Excellent 2-way communication skills (upward and downward)
  • Military experience or working in a military environment desired
  • Familiarity with computer networks
  • Practical knowledge of Project Management
  • Able to recommend enhancements to systems and processes
  • Ability to work under moderate to general supervision
  • Ability to adhere to a policy, procedures, standard work document, or well-established techniques to determine course of action
  • Ability able to make an independent decision when there are various possibilities but there’s a standard best practice to always go with
