The Senior Project Engineer provides technical support for production of high power travelling wave tubes (TWTs) Will also provide technical assistance regarding product performance capabilities and specifications for TWTsto support Business Development, Proposals and Program Management functions and act as a customer interface for technical issues. Will perform root cause analysis and implement corrective actions for production and performance issues. Perform design and fabrication reviews to implement continuous product improvements and production programs


Roles & Responsibilities


  • Performs engineering support for manufacturing programs.

  • Develops solutions to technical problems, and applies advanced engineering and scientific principles in completing assignments.

  • Prepares documents for design, manufacturing, and test reviews.

  • Develops, approves, and implements methods to resolve production problems, achieve cost reductions, enhance product performance, and ensure product quality.

  • Performs technical, cost, and schedule performance evaluations.

  • Supports program or project leaders as a team member and works with customers, teams, subcontractors, and suppliers.

  • Responsible for providing support to new business proposal efforts as required.

  • May lead and direct the work of other engineers.

  • Applies knowledge of engineering and scientific methods and tools to define and characterize behavior of products, services, and processes.

  • Integrates technical, cost, value, and safety considerations into the product definition to comply with customer, regulatory, and company requirements

  • Documents results in drawings, data sets, reports specifications, and supporting data.

  • Interfaces with other members of project or program teams, management, and technical staff to define and implement engineering solutions to meet group, organization, and Division objectives.

  • Other related duties as assigned by supervisor.



Job Requirements


Education and Experience:


  • A bachelor�s degree in engineering or Physics. EE preferred
  • 13 years of experience in an engineering classification performing technically related assignments. Experience with vacuum electronics and/or high power RF preferred.


Knowledge:


  • Knowledge of RF amplifiers specifications and requirements
  • Company organizations, processes, program plans, policies, procedures, and products.
  • Desktop procedures to ensure documents are maintained under configuration control.
  • Specification format requirements, guidelines, and change control processes.
  • Quality concepts, principles and tools, especially those used for root cause analysis
  • Various engineering disciplines � electrical, mechanical, test, material and process, and design.


Skills & Abilities:


  • Use personal computing hardware and standard business software.
  • Collect, organize and analyze data; summarize findings. Use these findings to develop conclusions and recommendations from appropriate data sources.
  • Determine, apply, and perform necessary math operations.
  • Determine the process to be used to accomplish goals, and properly document processes.
  • Recognize issues, problems, or opportunities in work area and determine whether action is needed.
  • Identify need for and collect information to better understand issues, problems, and opportunities.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
